LINER AT WANGANUI. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.! WANGANUI, July 17. Ihe P° r t Augusta, the first Commonwealth and Dominion liner to enter the port of Wanganui for the discharge of cargo, was berthed at noon to-cltiy. A FALSE STATEMENT. NEW PLYMOUTH, July 17. Thomas Richards, an old age pensioner, pleaded guilty at the Magistrate’s Court this morning to making a false statement of income, and thereby obtaining a. larger pension than that to which lie was lightly entitled. The magistrate issued a warning to pensioners oil the necessity for absolute honesty in making a return of income. He cancelled defendant’s pension for a terra of six months.
