NEWTON KING, LIMITED. Newton King, Ltd., report on recent markets as follows Fat Cattle.—There, seem to be ample offering to satisfy local requirements, and consequently'no very great hardening in prices is noticeable. The market has remained comparatively steady for some w'eeks past.. t Eat Sheep.—Fair- supplies have been available up till now, but even so values have been creeping up. The favourable demand for the skins (well woblled), is" mainly due to this. Store Sheep.—-Lambs are greatly in demand and have recently shown considerable improvement. It is safe to predict this improvement will continue. Two-tooth wethers, also store and forward wethers, are selling freely. Breeding ewes of aIL ages are finding ready buyers at satisfactory figures. Store Cattle.—The freezing coin-' panies are accounting for the bulk of the boner cows and bulls. Young store cows and empty heifers are selling a little better, and weaner heifers are also showing a. marked improvement. There has recently been a. very fair demand for good wrnaner Jersey heifers. There is little movement in steer cattle, the younger sorts being mostly wanted, but few are offering. .Dairy Cattle.—The market’has proved better than .was earlier anticipated. Both heifers and cows, in good condition and calving early, are selling readily, the Jersey strain being the most popular.
