THE THIRD TEST. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYBIGHT (Received July 16, 9.40 a.m.) SYDNEY’, July 16. The All Blacks’ team for the third test is the same as for the second test. Owing to a broken rib Walker, the New South Wales captain, will be unable to play, and will be replaced by Meagher.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. MANAIA GROUP REPRESENTATIVES. A game of some interest was played at Manaia yesterday, where some thirty boys foregathered, the object being to pick a representative team from the Kaponga group. Players were present Irom Manaia Main School, Manaia Convent-. Otakeho, Auroa, Kaponga and Kapuni. Fortunately the weather was good and the ground dry, so that the various players had every opportunity to display their individual merits. The following boys have been selected to represent tlieir group at Manaia next Saturday, when a game will be played with representatives of the Havera and Opunakc groups: Forwards: Mitchell (Otakeho). Hansen. Coleman (Manaia Convent), D. Meier (Kapuni). Anderson, Lyndon (Auroa), Noonan (Kaponga), Eaves (Otakeho). Barks: McDonald (Manaia State), R. liill, loro a (Manaia), Joyce (Manaia Convent), Hill, Briscoe (Kaponga), Busby (Kapuni). Emergencies: Forwards, Berry, Walker (Manaia); backs, Tait (Auroa), Kit (Manaia).
CHINESE, “SOCCER” TEAM. WELCOMED AT WELLINGTON. (BY TiTLEGHAPII—PKF.BS ASSOCIATION ) WELLINGTON, July 15. The Chinese ‘‘.soccer’’ team arrived at Wellington to-day in good health and spir its. The team represents the cream of Chinese ‘’soccer'” nlavers, and all are university students. " A crowd of over 300 assembled on the wharf, and the team was met by tire Chinese Consul (Mr- Le Kwarrg Lertg), the presidents of the Chinese Association, the Chinese Masonic Society, and the Nationalist League, arM the chairman and members of the New Zealand and Wellington Football Associations. Members of the team were presented with, mascots by two little Chinese maidens. Mr H. C- Mayer (chairman of the Dominion Council) expressed a cordial welcome and Mr A. Dome (manager) responded. Cheers were then exchanged. A practice in the afternoon demonstrated a considerable knowledge- of the game. A civic reception will be tendered to-morrow, and a number of other functions are to be arranged. The team plays Wairarap-a on Thursday and Wellington on Saturday. The banner is a Chinese Republican flag. The team comprises a fine body of athletes.
