OLYMPIC GAMES.
TENNIS MATCHES. BY CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION—COPYBIGHT PARIS, July 15. In the second round of tennis Williard had a win by three straight sets over Halot. The Australians then met Kehrling and Kelaman in the doubles. In a. long struggle superb tennis was displayed. Kehrling, who i s champion of Germany, has not been beaten in the recent tournament. Williard and Bayley to-morrow meet Richards and Hunter; Williard meets Jacobs (India) and Bayley meets Gilbert. (England). Altogether the Australians have a busy day to-morrow, the swimmers, rowers, boxers, scullers and tennis players all competing. In the singles Borotra, who recently Avon the British championship at Wimbledon, only defeated Torralava, from Chile, 9—7, 7 —5, 7—5. Kingseote, Williams and Gilbert also reached the third round.
In the doubles the Alfonso brothers beat. Kingseote and Wheatley in three straight sets; Bolder and* Gottlieb (Czeeho-Slovakia) beat Godfrey and Woosnam, and Mrs Coveil and Miss MeKane beat Mrs Jessup and Miss Goss similarly.
