John E'dward Jenkinson, aged 28, was committed for trial at the Police Court °'} a ; charge of the attempted murder of his wife, Mabel. Mrs. Jenkinson stated in evidence that on Sunday, June 29, her husband was shaving. He i dinner was ready, and she replied that he had not been working and there was hardly any food in the house, borne words ensued about her getting a separation order, and her husband struck her neck with the razor, inflicting a cut half an inch long. The following night at 11.30 she found her husband treating a young man to. supper. This made her angry, as she was receiving charitable aid. She got out of the house through the . window and informed the police of the previous clay s happenings. Accused pleaded not guilty and reserved his defence.
