AWATUNA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The fancy dress children's ball held iii tlie Awatuna. Hall on July 4 was a great snc-c-e-ss in spite oi the . stormy weather, and the proceeds will he a welcome addition vo the school funds. The children’s costumes were all extremely pretty or original, and the judges, Mrs. West and Miss McLeod, had a very difficult task in picking out the prize-winners, whose names are given below. Miss Marshall very kindly played free of charge for the Children, and thanks are also due to Mr. Marshall for his kindness in lending his piano for the night. At 10 o’clock the grown-ups took the floor, and a very pleasant evening concluded, to the satisfaction of all, in the early hours of the morning.
