The strong and consistent support given to .Rugby by a former enthusiastic member of the Hawera Club, the late Mr G. H. Gibson, is recalled by the handsome banner presented to the union as a memorial. This banner is now in Bennett and Sutton’s window, the inscription being as follows: ; ‘G. H. Gibson Memorial Junior Championship for South Taranaki.” The winners, whose names are already inscribed are Hawera 1919 and 1923, Kaoonga 1920, and Okaiawa 1921 and 1922.
