Under a treaty of co-operation pubhshed here, Italy and Czecho-Slovakia pledge themselves to safeguard common interests, and maintain the integrity of the treaties of Sain Germain, Trianon and Neuilly. The treaty is valid for hve years, after which it- is renewable. DANGEROUS TO CYCLISTS. _ . , LONDON, July 9. During the last four months fifbv cyclists have been killed, in London streets owing to traffic congestion, in which, cycling becomes extremely risky. —A.N.Z.C.A. BREACH OF PROMISE. LONDON, July 9. Robert Lebaudy, a multi-millionaire sugar refiner, who is brother of the self-styled Emperor of Sahara, was defendant in a breach of promise case, in which Mrs Mendham, an American widow, suefkliim for £20,000. She gave evidence that she had been twice married, and after Mendham J s deafh she met Lebaudy. in 1916. They became on terms of the greatest affection. Lebaudy proposed to marry her in America, but -when the Emperor of Sahara was shot by liis wife in 1919 Robert was so upset that he refused to go to America, and now he would not marry her.
