In the House of Commons, M>r Perry alleged that 25,1)00 crates of cheese recently held up in London stores auaitmg iiigher prices had become heated and unsaleable. He suggested that legislation should restrict the operations of interests controlling large sup-** pjies ox foodstuffs. Mr . Webb replied that he had been informed that the early arrivals of New Zealand cheese this year wei - e more plentiful than usual, and it had been decided to place immature cheese in cold stove in order to provide a re-' serve for the autumn, tie- is not aware that any appreciable wastage of cheese had occurred, but would be glad of detailed information.—Reuter.
