An improvement in shipbuilding is shown by Lloyd’s register, the shipbuilding returns for the quarter ended June 30 showing 1,465.000 tons actually under construction in the United Kingdom, the highest since March 31, 1922. The" tonnage commenced is 373,000, compared with 227,000 for the corresponding period of last vear, and the tonnage launched was 364,000, the highest for 21- years. Merchant tonnage actually building abroad is 960,000, which is 35,000 more than at March 31. —Reuter.
