THE SHOW.

CHILDREN’S DAY. The popularity of the Winter Show is being well maintained and throughout the day and during sessions yesterday aliother large terowd of interested spectators thronged the halls. The school holiday observed throughout the district enabled large numbers of pupils to view the exhibition. While showing an intelligent interest in the many industrial exhibits, the school children naturally gave special attention to the school displays, the entries in the afforestation shield and root competitions, together with the exhibits in actual school work, being the subject of much comment and discussion which should prove of considerable educational value. If the, fine weather conditions so far experienced continue to-day the attendance should be one of; the largest of ,the week. Many people have expressed their appreciation of the excellence of this year ’s exhibition, which.is regarded as equalling the best, and (those who have not visited the show should make Bure of going this evening, when it is expected that there will be a very large attendance. The forestry exhibits, motors, Acclimatisation Society’s display, dairy produce, Department of Industries and Commerce display are each worth attention, not to mention the many, other attractions which are- so well arranged in the great halls.
