HONOURS MARKET.

PRICE OF A BARONETCY. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Received July 5, 11.45 a.m. _ LONDON, July 4. Remarkable statements in regard to the alleged purchase of a baronetcy were made at a meeting of creditors of the late Sir John Stewart, a distiller of Dundee, who recently committed suicide. A trustee stated that Sir John Stewart contributed £50,000 to party funds, but this was repaid him in .December, 1922, at his request in order to avoid bankruptcy. The trustee refused to answer questions in regard to whom this money was paid. 0 ’ The representative of a large creditor suggested that the money was paid to t r r v i George, and declared that I he did not believe that £50,000 was the w total paid for a baronetcy. He was of the opinion that £150,000 was more likely.—Reuter.
