Meredith for the position of delegate at the Imperial Rugby Union conference, to be held, in England during the All Blacks’ visit. Mr. H. Ihe All Black team for. England is now expected to sail on Tuesday Julv 29, at 3 p.m. A Times- reporter, learned, to-day .that the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Remuera, owing to bad weather and the fact that more cargo than anticipated had to be stowed, is now scheduled to s ail on the 29tli inst!'instead of the 27th. After discharge at. Lyttelton the liner loads at Timaru, .Napier, and Wellington, and the Napier roadstead will he the chief factor in determining her sailing time. .The Remuera is to spend four days there, hut if she strikes bad weather further delav is inevitable.
WEDNESDAY MATCHES. WHAREROA (9) v. TAWHITI (6). On account of the provincial fixture to-day this match was played at Taiporohenui yesterday, and resulted as above arter a fast and exciting ganie. H. Steffert obtained a try for Whareroa, and the blue and blacks also got two goals from the field. Tawhiti secured an unconverted try, and Hihi scored a fine goal from a half-way kick. Mr A. Paterson refereed.
