A very great deal of interest is being taken in the display of New; Zealand manufactured goods at the 'Show made by the Department of Industries and Commerce. Mr Schmidt, who is the officer in charge, is thought very highly of bv his department as a very capable and enthusiastic officer, who revels in his work, sparing neither time nor effort to advance the interests of the New Zealand manufacturer. It has come as a surprise to many to find such a variety of high grade goods manufactured in New Zealand in the ordinary way of trade. Mr Schmidt has informed us that he will be pleased to give a short lecture to any groups of school pupils if the teachers care to arrange with him for same, and from what we have seen and heard we think the opportunity a golden one for acquiring a great deal of information which is not readily available at any time, and certainly not in as convincing a form. The Eltham Magpies will give an entertainment in the Town Hall, Kaponga to-night (Wednesday). Entertainment will be followed by a dance. SHOW WEEK.
