THE WEATHER
The Government Meteorologist telegraphed' that for the 24 hours from H a.m. to-day the indications are for variable and strong breezes, but easterly moderate to strong prevailing, and backing up by cast to north. Idle weather appears likely to he cloudy and unsettled, with rain following. The barometer has a falling tendency. Seas rough swell; tides poor.
