HEART BEATS AFTER BREATHING STOPPED. 8Y CABLE—FREB>* ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Received June 30, 9.40 a.m. LONDON, June 29. An astonishing case of* a woman’s heart continuing to beat after breathing had stopped was described at the coroner’s inquest at Westminster. Deceased, aged 45, suddenly became ill in a street and was admitted to hospital, and was diagnosed to be suffering from cerebral haemorrhage While being examined breathing stopped, but the pulse continued. Additional’ doctors were summoned and artificial respiration and oxygen were applied. The efforts to restore breathing were fruitless. For 4J hours after breathing had stopped the heart beat regularlv.—Aus - N.Z. Cable Assn.
