3Y OA3LB —P&ESB ASSOCIATION—COPYttTQHT SYDNEY, June 28. The Australian wool year, which closes on Monday, stands withoutequal in past records. Lieal selling has been characterisd by a singular absence of market fluctuation in the demand for the staple product. The quantities available for sale in Australia dropped IQ per cent., which was responsible for a decided lift in prices for January and March. In the past year about 15s per head w r as obtained for wool, compared with 12s in the previous year. At the Sydney sales prices ranged from 39£d to 46§d, compared with 35d to 38id in 1921-22 Of the wool exported from Sydney, France received most and Britain’s importations dropped 10 per cent-., while the imports mto continental countries and Japan increased:— Aus.-N.Z. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., have received a cable from their London house under date 25th inst., as folUiws: There were 640 casks of tallow offered and 375 sold. Prices are unchanged. MARKET REPORT. • ie Farmers’ Co-op. Oragnisation Society ot New Zealand, 'Ltd., report:— Contrary to anticipation the dairy sales have been .particularly bright, goodcows fetching very high money, in tact the competition at most sales has been keener., although prices are hardly as high as those ruling last year. Some very good averages have -been; obtaiued, especially for herds of quality Jerseys, individual cows mu-king up as high as ■£“l I9s. The demand can be accounted for by the fact that the culling light throughout the district has been exceptionally heavy this season, and replacements are necessary. It is niost notable that- the poor quality cow is not asked for, and we are glad that the farmer now realises that it is not a paying proposition to milk the inferior sorts. So far little atention*lias been paid to in-calf heifers, but at' clearing sales good Jerseys have met with ready sale. During:the- week w© have conducted sales on behalf of Messrs Cassidy and Hill (Kapuni), Watson’s Estate (Eltham), J. S. McKenzie (Te Kiri), F. M-ilham (Whakamara), A. Jackson (Normanbv), F. Francis (Oeo), T. A. Bridge (Kqpuni), Jas. Hodge (Mata), John Humphries (Opunake), Harris and Minhinnick (Hawera), when a total of 602 cows have- come under the. hammer; also horses and implements. Good young farm mares and geldings, £3O to £3B; waggons, £4O to £55; implements, full market values. The sheep market has been fairly good, the inquiry for hoggets and weaner ewes being well up to, the supply. The yarding lias not been particularly heavy, but anything coming forward has met with ready sale. Medium late shorn ewe hoggets, 23s 9d; early shorn mixed sex hoggets, 255; 'smaller early shorn mixed sex hoggets, 20s to 21s 9d; mixed aged Lincoln skinned ewes in lamb to Romney rams, 27s 9d; Romney-skinned ewes in lamb, 20s; 2tooth wethers, 29s 9d; fattening ewes, 20s to 21s Gd.

Fat sheep.—The market is fairly bare. Wethers 355; ewes, 26s to 28s 6d.
