SALE OF BOOTS.
ACTION AGAINST HANNAH AND COMPANY.
(by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.’) WELLINGTON, June 27. The £SOOO claim by Hart and Penlington, Ltd., against I?. Hannah and Co., boot importers, was continued in the Supreme Court to-day. .Witnesses said they had seen advertisements of Hannah and Co. and had deduced from these that Hart and Penlington were up against it or out of business, and had cancelled orders, or had diverted orders to other firms. When resumed in the afternoon counsel asked permission to confer. Following this, Mr. Skerrett, on behalf of Hannah and Co., announced that a settlement had been reached He said Hannah’s never had any intention of imputing insolvencv or'want of financial stability on the part of Hart and Penlington, Ltd. It might well be that the advertisements complained of were unfortunate <in their expres r sions. and it was a matter of regret, of course, that some injury and annoyance (perhaps as much annoyance as injury) had been caused to plaintiffs. It was in consequence of this position that Hannah and Co. had arranged satisfactory terms for its adjustment. The action was struck out. The details of the settlement were not announced
