TE KIRI.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Friends will be glad to see Airs. Horgan about again after her operation, and also to know that Air. O. Stock we 11 is doing well after his attack of pleurisy and pneumonia. I believe All's. AlcCarrison’s health is also improving. A very enjoyable dance was held in the local hall last Friday evening. Although our usual musicians (Air., Mrs. and Aliss Collins) were away on holiday, everyone who could play helped and the evening passed all too quickly. In the absence of the chairman of the hall committee, the secretary thanked all who came to their assistance with the music, and also Air A. Hodges, who proved an efficient AI.C. The gem of the evening was undoubtedly a square dance played* by Airs. Hodges (mandolin), Airs. Porteous (aceordeon) and Mr. McKinnon (a bush kettle-drum). Other players were Miss Coupe, Airs. Coxhead and Air. Allen. Another dance will be held on Wednesday, July 2, it being thought advisable to change from the usual Friday, as it usually clashes with the surrounding dances. The new hall committee have boughtin a good part of the debentures, and are, 1 believe, going to build the supper-room at once, which will be appreciatd very much, especially at a ball. At a. dance given recently by her personal friends, Aliss Alason was presented with a wristlet watch. She had been connected with the local school for some time, and left to take, a similar position at Pihama, The children also presented her with a manicure set.
