MANAIA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)’ The Convent School broke up on Friday last for their midwinter holidays, and are holding their entertainent on Wednesday next. School entertainments' are looked forward to by most people; the pleasant voices and natural acting of the children appeal to all. The Sisters have been energetically working for the past six weeks making preparations and instructing the scholars for their various parts, and so enthusiastic are the little ones that they confidently expect this year’s performance to excel all previous* ones. Tbe programme will include a fairy operetta entitled “The Enchanted Glen.” as well as fancy dances, action sprigs, recitations, dialogues, etc. The different dresses and the lighting effects will be a particular feature pf the evening. A record house is expected to greet the performers to-morrow, evening.
