ELECTORAL REFORM URGED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COP YE IGHT Received June 23, 10.25 a.m. CAPETOWN, June 22. The final voting figures show a remarkable disparity between the votes and the actual representation. The South African Party with a minority ot 29 polled half the total votes. The press urges that this makes a strong case for electoral revision. It is understood that General Smuts will resign on Monday. Mr Hertzog’s Cabinet numbers 11. A new portfolio of Labour will be created if Labour will consent to enter the Cabinet. The Standerton election has been fixed for July 16. The Nationalists have not yet announced their candidate to oppose General Smuts there. „ Ro°s, chairman of the Transvaal Nationalists, lias invited the Dutch members of the South African Party to join the Nationalists on the ground that the former are now nothing but the old Unionist Party.—Reutr.
