Carl Holtz, son of the general manager of the newspaper Age, was killed through becoming entangled in the machinery at the Mount Lyell Mining Company’s works at I’ootseray, where he was employed as commercial chemist. His clothing was caught in the belting, and he. was whirled around the
shafting. He sustained dreadful injuries and died in a few hours. His age was 22. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.,
