BOAT OVERTURNS. (by TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.I PALMERSTON N., June 22. A drowning accident occurred at Earere on Saturday, A. W. Park, a single man, aged 23, losing his life in the Manawatu River. Deceased was foreman of a party employed by the Manawatu.-Oroua' Power Board, and he was getting a wire across the river R hen a boat containing him and a companion overturned and Park was washed downstream. A search party of 25 was engaged' to-day in dragging the river, but the body has so- far not been recovered. Great praise is bestowed by the hoard’s engineer on an employee named Steer, who. made galsave his companion. & This is the third accident to. members of the gang this week. J. Proctor, who was! injured earlier in the week while untrucking poles, still lies m hospital in a dangerous condition.
