board of trade estimates. LONDON. June 19. In the House of Commons, Mr. Sydney Webb introduced the Board 'of Trade estimates. He said that owing to _ the developments of the Imperial Shipping Committeee it had been decided to pay the hitherto unpaid chairman (Sir J. Mackinder) £2OOO a year. Trade conditions ufere considerably more promising than last year. There had been a wonderful increase in imports. mainly of the principal raw materials on which British commerce depended. Exports had also increased. The coal and steel produrtion in Britain had reached pre-war figures.— Reuter.
