AGAINST TITLED MAN. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. LONDON, June 18. Sir Detrick Wernher, son of Lady Ludlow, has been arrested and charged Avith perjury, which is alleged to have been committed during bankruptcy proceedings on May 6, 1912. Sir Derrick Wernher declares that lie knows nothing of the charge. The accused Avas declared bankrupt in 1912. His father was a famous South African magnate, and left him £I2OO a year while between the ages of 25 and 30, and £2400 a year thereafter. A sum of £150,000 was placed in trust for his children, and the accused’s younger brothers Avere bequeathed £1,000,000 and £1,500,000 respectably.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
