DEHORNING CATTLE.

(To the Editor). Sir. —I have read Avith interest your correspondents’ comemnts re dehorning. Personally, I prefer dehorning during the present season. I lniA*e dehorned many cattle, both for myself and for others Avith a. suay, and Avithout accident of any sort and seldom had a eoAv throw herself during the operation. As regards Mr W. T. Bailey’s query—“which way lie Avould like his finger cut off, by saiviug or by one clean-cut Avith a sharp instrument” —I Avould inform him that I Avould not like the operation performed at all • but I would ask Mr Bailey if a surgeon asks his patient Avliether he Avould prefer an amputation performed with “one quick cut with a sharp instrument” (a jambcut), or Avhether lie uses his scientific knoAvledge of the effects of such a cut — and a .saw ‘i~ The flour-boraeic poAvder dressing I consider is excellent, and some such coatiqg should ahvays .be used. Thanking von, sir,—l am, etc.. " ANTI-JAMB-CUT.
