LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIPS AT NEW PLYMOUTH. The ladies’ Taranaki provincial golf championship tournament begins on the New Plymouth Club’s links at Wniwakaiho to-day. Numerous outside entries have been received, and with tl}e greens and fairways in excellent condition the competitors may look forward to a most enjoyable meeting. In the list of drawings the following play : Miss Burgess and Miss Brewster, Miss Gibson and Mi’s Broderick, Mrs Mcßae and Miss Simpson, Miss Quin and Mrs Quilliam, Mrs Christie and Miss Home, Mrs Roberts and Mrs Anderson. This afternoon a bogie handicap will be played, the draw being as follows: Miss Quin and Miss Stanford, Miss Burgess and Miss Gavin, Mrs Tingey and Miss Bremer, Miss Gibson and Miss Simpson, Mrs Christie and Mrs Scanlon, Mrs Corfe and Mrs McWilliam, Mrs Roberts and Miss Shaw. To-morrow a medal handicap, junior medal handicap, and the championship semi-finals will be played in the morning, while in the afternoon a four-bail bogie match and the championship final will take place. On Friday the match Taranaki v. Wanganui will he played, the first competitors starting at 10 o’clock sharp. i Trophies will be presented after the conclusion of the championship final tomorrow afternoon.
