In the London championships at Queen’s Club, Bayley (Australia) beat Clark 6 —l, 5—7, 6—o; Peacock (New Zealand) beat Crawley, 6 —4, 4—6, B—6;8 —6; Fakuda beat Allison (New Zealand), 7—5, 6—l.

A team of internationals which, is playing Cambridge University included Brookes, Mishu, Williams and AYashburn, the last two being members of the American Olympic team. Brookes and Mishu proved a remarkable combination, and won all their matches without losing a set. The Australian was in his pre-war form, and Mishu afterwards described Brookes’ volleying as uncanny. DAVIS CUP. WIN FOR DENMARK. COPENHAGEN, June 16. In the third round of the Davis Cup matches Denmark defeated Italy by three matches to two. Denmark now meets Czecho-Slovakia. The results were as follows: Singles.—Demorpurgo (Italy) defeated Tegner (Denmark) by three sets to love; Petersen (Denmark) defeated Colombo (Italy) by three sets to Jove; Tegne'r defeated Colombo by three sets to one; Demorpurgo defeated Petersen by three sets to love. Doubles.—The Danes defeated the "Italians by three sets to one.
