IDEAL COUNTRY.

PROSPECTS IN NEW ZEALAND. CABLE PSISB ABBOOIAriON—COFTBIQHI LONDON, June 16. In a second article unon New Zealand, Mr. Fenton MacPherson, the special commissioner of the Dailv Chronicle, who recently visited Australia. and New Zealand, states: “New Zealand is an ideai country tor newcomers desirous of becoming farmers. It is difficult to realise that the country has been developed in such a short space of time. One cannot rail to be impressed by the well laid out towns, the splendidly equipped ports, the gigantic schemes of waterpower, and the general use of laboursaving devices. “But it- is not individual effort alone that the country depends for its prosperity. , Coupled‘with that is the collective spirit of co-operation, which is a phenomenal feature of the economic life. By linking individual with co-operative efforts in production, transport and marketing, New Zealander® are attaining a standard of efficiency which is a model to the rest, of the Empire.”
