CONGRATULATIONS.
ON THE STAR’S NEW PRINTING ' MACHINE. Many telegrams of congratulation upon trio installation, of the new printmg machine have beeu received by the management of the Star, in addition to the many expressions -of 'a similar nature made by the large numbers of people who have come to the office to see the machine at work. Our New Plymouth contemporaries otter their congratulations in the following .paragraphs:— Taranaki Herald: The Hawera Star Jias installed a modern printing machine which is an improvement on that formerly used, and the paper came Irom it for the first time on Thursday with very pleasing results. The new machme has enabled the appearance of the paper to be much* improved, and m extending congratulations to the Star proprietary upon the enterprise which worked the change, it can be said that, the publication is in every way c-reditable to the progressive town and district which it serves. An alteration has been made in the title the old one, “The Hawera and Normanby Star,” with a sub-title “Patea County Chronicle and Waimte Plains Gazette,” being regarded as too cumbersome in present circumstances The .paper now is “The Hawera Star,”' with South Taranaki Gazette” as the subtitle. •
Taranaki Daily News: ’Another advance m journalism in Taranaki was made on Thursday, when the Hawera otar was printed by means of new and iip-to-date plant. The modern type of the press employed is reflected in the improved printing of the paper, the excellent appearance of which is a credit to all concerned. The enterprise of the proprietors of the Hawera Star is an important step forward, and is a contribution to the high standard of new.spa.per production in Taranaki, on winch the proprietors are to be warmly congratulated.
