NEW ZEALAND INDUSTRIES.
POLITICAL PHASE. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, June 13. The meeting of the Industrial Corporation of New Zealand resolved to ehange the name to the “New Zealand Manufacturers’ Corporation,” with no change in the constitution. The meeting discussed the question of direct representation in Parliament of the manufacturers’ interests, and resolved: That this corporation, while against the creation of another party in Parliament, desires direct representation of its interests therein, and urges he different industrial associations fo try and persuade some of its members, acceptable to the respective political parties, to submit themselves as prospective candidates ; further, that this corporation take steps to see that candidates for Parliament are fully informed as to the needs of the local manufacturers, and that suitable questions are submitted to all such candidates with the object of ascertaining their attitude towards secondary industries.
