OBITUARY.
MR. GEDRQS EASTON
The dentil occurred this morning at ins residence, Camberwell Road, of Mi;,wJ' aston ’ °,! the well-known local auctioneering farm of Smith and Easton. -Deceased had been suffering from a serious illness for fourteen weeks, and bis death was therefore not altogether unexpected. Mr Easton was born at 1 ort Chalmers 49 years ago, and came to Hawera m 190 b, after having seen seuice m the South African War. He took a very interest in the South Ati lean \ eterai_s’ Association, and was a prominent member for a number of years.
Ihe late Mr Easton was a man with a I ?°; st ft eil ial and generous nature, and took a very keen interest in life. He was always willing to assist in town movements, and he had a wide circle of friends throughout the district, who will learn with regret of his death. To Ins widow and son the heartfelt sympathy of the people of the town and district is expressed. The funeral will leave the residence, Camberwell Road, to-morrow morning.
