Golf.
The Hastings Golf Club will open the season on Saturday next, when on their Twyford Links a mixed foursome will be played commencing at 2 p m. sharp.
The Turf.
HASTINGS TRAINING NOTES On account of the rain this morning, very little woric of any consequence was done on the tracks.-Coraz-m and B»rengaria were associated over a mile gallop. Pearl Reef and Merrie Lawn were sent six furlongs, the latter having slightly the best of it. VYaikehua and Raupare were responsible for a 4-furlong flutter. Castleside wis not good enough for Donze! at the end of five furlongs. With light weights up Dazzling and Roselethe were sent six furlongs. California did. a couple of rounds at half pace, coming down the straight at top the second time. The soft going seemed to suit this horse admirably and he struck out as ne has not done for a long time. Seraphic alone sprinted three furlongs. Longner. a recent arrival, did a couple of solid rounds The remainder of the horses engaged at the meeting were given useful exercise.
Boxing.
THE KENRICK-RRANNIGAN" CONTEST. ( Received 23. 12 noon) New York. April 24 _ The boxing contest between Kenrick, the English bantam weight champion, and Patsy Brannigan. of Pittsburg, of ten rounds, at New Orleans, ended in a draw.
