MISSED HIS TICKET.
A gentleman travelling on one of tho English railways not long ago found, when arriving at his destination, that his ticket was missing. Being unable t?> 'find it, he of course had to jny the .sum to the ticket collector. "Thr. o shillings and (sixpence, please," paid the collector. The gentleman paid the money, but, just as lie wa* departing, he noticed the man divide the money and put part in one pocket ar.d part in another. The gentleman asked him why he did this, to which he replied, "Well, the company 'as to 'are something, don't it?''
At a Local Concert. Miss W.(through tho din): "That Miss O'Prano is ail odious creature." Miss B (through the din) : ''Yes, the most odious screecher I know."
