TURKEY AND THE POWERS. London, November 11. In reply to Turkey's note asking for a prompt settlement of certain questions on the basis of an ample automonv for Crete under permanent Turkish sovereignty, the protecting Powers declined to reopen the question at the present juncture, on the ground that it was untimely and dangerous, but promised a careful maintenance of the status quo.
