Cricket.
J. H. Board, Hawke's Bay's professional coach, who arrived in Napier last evening, will at once get t~> work in his new sphere of duty. A comprehensive schedule, embracing all the schools desirous of having the benefit of his tuition, and the various clubs as far as possible, has been arranged, and' it is hoped that those for whom the benefit of coaching is provided will zealously assist the efforts of the Cricket Association and its supporters in the desire to improve the standard of Hawke's Bay cricket. In the opinion of Mr Board the last Australian Eleven was not as strong as some cf ihe former teams, but the team had two brilliant colts in Bardsley and Ransford. Some years ago Mr Board visited Australia with a team led by Mr A. E. Stoddarr, but the present is his first trip to New Zealand. He will remain in Napier until about the end of March.
