Hastings Borough Council.

PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE. The Public Works Committee of the Hastings Borough Council met last evening and decided to recommend the council ag follows; — 1. That the whole question of kerbing andcharnelling be deferred. 2. That the applications for street lamps from J. A. Fraser, G Banks and T.J. Davidson be deferred. 3. The Finance Committee met and decided to recommend : That consideration of the Napier Gas Company's estimate for the cost of erection of street lamps be deferred. PARKS COMMITTEE The Parks Committee decided to recommend : 1. That the public be notified that the Council are prepared to accept donations of trees for planting in the streets and parks on Arbor Day. 2. That the question of erecting an arc lamp at the band rotunda be deferred.
