Home Defence.
COMPULSORY TRAINING URGED. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, April 15. At the Chambers of Commerce Conference to-day. Mr Tolley moved: "That this Conference urges the Government to give special attention to the home defence of the Dominion, and considers that the institution of the system of compulsory military training is the fairest, most efficient, and most economical means of defence. The mover said he considen d the volunteer system had broken down. The motion was passed unanimously after discussion.
