TURKISH MINISTRY UPSET

SUCCESS OF INSURGENT TROOPS.

MINISTERS MURDERED,

The soldiery wounded the Minister of Marine and killed the Minister of Justice. The leaders of the committee are hiding. It is rumoured that the soldiery around Parliament House acclaimed Tewfik as Premier and Edham as Minister of' War, these appointments representing the wish of the Sultan.

STAMBOUL INVADED,

The mutineers invaded Stamboul at midnight. By morning the greater part of the garrison at Constantinople and the Haloihu Rifles, hitherto the mainstay of the Committee of Union and Progress, together with many civilians ar,med with revolvers, were surrounding Parliament House, not the Porte. When officers accompanied them this was due to compulsion. The rest of the officers were gagged and imprisoned in the barracks. The mutineers were commanded by a non-commissioned officer. They cheered the Sultan and demanded that the State should respect the Sheeriat, or sacred l?w.

A few of the artillery and cavalry remained faithful. Massed before the Minister of War, they used quickfirers to intimidate the crowd, 17 being killed and 20 wounded. According to latest reports, the exMinister for War is a prisoner. The mutineers are barricading the approaches to Parliament House. Edhem Pasha, accompanied by cheering troops and b?nds, proceeded to Stamboul after the resignation of the Ministry. The Sultan's irade was read in the Chamber, pardoning the mutineers and announcing that the sheeriat would be observed in future. The Chamber cheered the message. The,unrest of the troops was not confined to the capital. The conspiracy against the Committee of Union and Progress is in the interests of Albanian autonomy.

London, April 14. Reuter reports tha Iquil Kemil Bey. leader of the Liberal Union, has been appointed Vice-President. THE GARRISON, REJOICES. The majority of the garrison remained outside the Parliamentary Buildings and War Office throughout the night and continuous firing was kept up in honour of the acceptance of military and ecclesiastical demands. These included the removal from Constantinople of Djahid, the editor of the "Tamin."

THE FUTURE OBSCURE. The fact that the majority of the members of Parliament beiongtothe Committee Union, renders the future obscure. The Sherkulislam. who acted as pacificator, retained his post. THE NEW COMMANDANT. (Received 15, 8.26 a.m.) Constantinople. April 14. , Javer Pasha, Commandant at Constantinople, has succeeded Madmud Mukhtar in the command of the First Army Corps. RELIGION THE CAUSE. The processionists on Tuesday asked the Sultan to go to Stamboul and wear a green turban in token of respect for their religion. A small force of Russian Cossacks was sent to Meshed to protect foreigners.
