CONFERENCE IN WELLINGTON. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, April 13. The Conference of the New Zealand Chambers of Commerce opened to-day. Mr W. G. Duthie (Chairman), welcomed the visiting delegates and outlined the business to be considered, and expressed the opinion the Conference would end on Thursday. Mr D. G. Nathan brought forward a motion expressing approval of the Government's offer of a Dreadnought. The motion was received with applause and discussion was deferred till the afternoon. A lengthy discussion took place in criticism of the Graduated Land Tax.
