OTAGO v. HAWKE'S BAY. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. Napier, January 5. The representative cricket match Otago v. Hawke's Bay commenced to-day in beautiful weather and a perfect wicket. Winning the tossOtago batted first O. Wilson and Ayles opening to Cotterill and Redgrave. The batsmen showed confidence from the start the score mounting rapidly despite numerous changes of bowling. The century was passed under the hour and the batsmen continued to paste the bowling. The score at 12.30 stood at 145 for no wickets, Wilson 103, Avles 31. At the luncheon adjournment, Wilson and Ayles' partnership was still undissolved. The score totalled 177 (Wilson tiq. Ayles 45)-
