Rifle Shooting.

PETANE RIFLE CLUB v. RANFURLY RIFLES. A team representing Petane Rifle Club met a team from the Ranfurly Rifles at the Petane Range on Saturday in a match which resulted in a tie, each team scoring 389 points. The ranges and conditions were : Seven men aside, 200 and 500 yds, seven shots each. Rifl nun Winslade, hon. sec. of fie Opaki Rifle Club, m.-t with a painful accident last week, a piece of metal which he was welding flying up and sticking to his right eye. It is not thought that Mr Winslade will lose the sight of the eye, but it may be affected for further shooting purposes. Winslade's loss to his club will be a severe one, as he was one of there most brilliant shots, and is the possessor of many valuable trophies.
