Dynamiters attempted to assassinate Mr Gallagher, the principal State witness in the bribery charges against G. Neal and Fierzford, counsel for the United Railway Company, in connection with the San Francisco graft cases. His house was wrecked and Gallagher and his wife were injured.

A DANGEROUS VOYAGE. BALLOON TRIP ACROSS THE BALI IC. (Received 12, 8.41 a.m.) Stockholm, May 11. Two Swedish ofiicers travelled in a balloon across the Baltic from Stockholm to Courland on the Russian coast, in twelve hours. [The distance from Stockholm to the coast of the province of Courland is over 300 miles. The daring aeronauts have accomplished'what is probably the longest over-sea balloon voyage yet made.] SHIPOWNERS' LIABILITIES.
