German Liner on Fire

Received January 29, 8.29 a.m Calcutta, January 28 The cruiser Diadem, in the Bay of Bengal, :c£cued 104 passengers and mails from the North German Lloyds liner Peydlitz, which was on fire. She was bound from Colombo to Penang. The Diadem escorted the Seydlitz to Ceylon, where she remains.
