Judgment for Damages

(Per Press Association). Wellington. November 5 An unusual ease was before the Arbitration Court to-day. This was a claim for £BOO brought by Sarah Robinson against the Union Steam Ship Company on account of the death of her husband, Edward Robinson, who was burned while attending to the fires on the steamer Rotoiti, travelling between Nelson and Wellington. The accident happened on August 21st 190-5. Robinson was attended by a medical man on his arrival at Wellington, and sent to his home in Auckland. He came back to Wellington, and died in the Listrict Hospital on January 17th from heart disease. The issue between the parties was whether the accident was the cause of the disease which led to his death. The medical evidence was conflicting. The court decided that its weight was in favour of the claim. Judgment was given for the claim, £ooo, with 15gs costs and witness' expenses and disbursements.
