The Rand

o Received November 4, 1.15 p.m London, November 3 Reuter reports that mineowners on the Rand explain that there were 1876 fewer whites employed in non-produc-ing mines from April Ist to October, as compared with an increase of 403 in producing mines. The Times says that the statistics for September show that, despite the stoppage of development owing to the labour question hanging in the balance, 400 more whites were directly employed on the Hand since the Chinamen arrived in June, 1904.
