Received November 3, 8.27 a.m St Petersburg, November 2 All the great -Jewish houses refuse to assist Russia until the Government pledges itself to redress Jewish grievances, and redeem 191 men of the Preobrajensky Regiment tried recently lor 'insubordination at St Petersburg, when five were sentenced to long terms of imprisonment and 150 were otherwise punished. Russian Liberals and Moderates protest that the legislation of the {statutes of the Union of Russian People, which \ proclaim an unlimited Democracy, on the ground that it was contrary to the Czar's manifesto of October 18th. Prince VassilkhikofT, Minister of Agriculture, states that 38,000,000 acres are available for sale to the peasantry.
