Prince Edward
According to a writer in L'lllmttation, Prince Edward of i'ork already has an eye on tbe time when ha will be Edward VIU. He knows all the English kings anal their dates, far which bo has a taste incredible to tbe average small boy. He has a pas3:on for geography, and can tell you all about tbe of Canada. At ths Coronation review of tbe Indian and colonial contingent?, he excited tba respectful wonder of several grown up persona by telling them things they did not know about visitors from remote quarters of tbe Empire. Sums have no attraction for Princ# Edward ; he thinks they may be safely left to the Cbancallor of tbe Exchequer. Music, in bia opinion, is an art which a monarch can aftord to over look. You cannot gcver* an Empira"by learning scales. As for languages, the French writer regrets to say that Prince Edward is better acquainted with the German than with the French tongna, and reminds him that " George 1., wbo did not know a work of English when b# cimo ta the throne, knew French very well indeed, and this was quite sufficient for tbe purpose of ruling." ________
