Lord Ros'bery has proposed a scheme for the establishment oi a College of Applied Science in connection with the London University, similar to that existing m Chariottenburg, Germany. The money for the scheme has already been fount! and the trustees include Lord Rosebery (chairman), "jhe I>ij. t- of Devonshire. Right Hon. A. J Balfour. Sit Francis "^r.wat'. Julius Wernher. Mr R. R. Haldanc, Dr Archibald Robertson (Vice-Chancciior of the University). The cost, apart from the site, will be LV'i.ii'"i. Wernher, Beit and Co. are larce contributors, and donations were also received from Lord Strathcor.a, Lord Cashe! and others. The Commissioners of the IXSI l-'x hibiiion give the sit_*. valued at £20".01K), adjacent to the University buildings. Kensington College will be the school of the University, working in co-operation with the Centra! Technical College, the Royal College of Science and other branches affording facilities for original research. In a letu-r unfolding his scheme, Lord Roseberv asked the London County Counci, to undertake its main tenance. which he estimates at £2«, 000 per annum.
