(By Telegraph.) Wangaxui, March 15. The band contest marching competition was witnessed by a large crowd. The results were : Total Wanganui Garrison, music 76, marching 288 361 Woodville, music 66, marching 269 835 New Plymouth, music 66, marching 265 331 Palmerston North s music 66, marching 259 325 Masterton, music 71, marching
218 322 Petone, music 75, marching 211 319 The contest concluded to - night. The result of the championship was : Wanganui 357 Masterton (disqualified) 355 Petone 317 New Plymouth 306 Palmerston North 305 Woodville 288
There was a great crowd at the Opera House, and the contest altogether was most successful.
